(Lacks title and all before "The Printer to the Reader", hole in C1 and C2 with loss of letters, some mainly marginal spotting and staining.) Attractively bound in contemporary burgundy panelled morocco gilt, floral cornerpieces repeated in compartments of the spine, gilt edges (rubbed, a little bowed). Provenance: a delightful series of sometimes puzzling couplets written by one Kitty House, or her friend, in a contemporary juvenile hand in several margins: "The chairs are broken/and that`s well spoken," "they are a hunting/and there is the Bunting," "A lone mason/Broke his Bason," "A citty town/the walls they will knock down," "pay what you owe/and what you are worth you will know," "O Miss Kitty/I do thee pitty," "Kitty House and I/Can eat an apple pye" and "Miss Kitty House/she shall have a Spouse." **A HUNTING SWORD, MID-18TH CENTURY with earlier tapering blade double-edged towards the point, cut with a long fuller along the back-edge, stamped with cross and orb marks and the inscription `Fide Sed Cui Vide` at the forte on the respective faces, iron hilt of rudimentary construction comprising a pair of vertically-recurved quillons (the iron parts pitted throughout), and natural staghorn grip studded with five iron rivets with large domed heads 67cm; 26 3/8 in blade
**AN 18 BORE GERMAN WHEEL-LOCK RIFLED SPORTING CARBINE, THE BARREL DATED 1668, WITH LATER DECORATION with octagonal swamped sighted barrel signed `Christian Reich in Osterweick 1668`, the tang incised with the number `112`, flat lock engraved with a hunting scene, fitted with external wheel retained by a pierced bracket, sliding pan-cover with button release, and double set trigger, full stock inlaid in staghorn with hounds, a boarhead, tendrils and pellets, the butt inset with an engraved staghorn plaque decorated with a boar set upon by hounds on the left and with patchbox with sliding cover on the right, iron trigger-guard shaped for the fingers, a pair of moulded iron ramrod-pipes, and horn tipped wooden ramrod 55.5 cm; 21 7/8 in barrel Christian Reich is recorded in Osterwick, Westphalia, circa 1661-80.

Bowl : various assorted chips to rim, one crack running from the rim approx. 7 cm in length, assorted chips to base, some wear to paintwork, general signs of wear and tear. Charger with floral design to centre : assorted chips to rim, some faults to glaze, general signs of wear and tear. Charger with animal to centre : assorted chips to rim, some small scratches. Charger with hunting scene : some signs of repair, assorted chips, some hairline cracks and one with some crazing, foot has been drilled.
