Roman Silver Lunar Pendant, 2nd-3rd Century AD. A rare silver lunar pendant of the Roman period. This crescentic flat lunar pendant has a twisted wire border with three circles of twisted wire applied to the front face and a silver loop for suspension. These amulets were worn to invoke the protection of the goddess Diana (Goddess of the Moon and of Hunting).19mm x 18mm, 0.67g. From a private collection, acquired 1980's.
