Three black hunting coats (two bearing black VWH Hunt buttons), a pink hunting jacket, a yellow waistcoat, and a camel waistcoat CONDITION REPORTS The black coat bearing VWH hunt buttons is extremely worn fraying and stained and the buttons are extremely deteriorated - there are three buttons to front and two to each cuff. Black coat which has just two VWH hunt buttons to the front and two to each cuff, has wear and dirt and the hunt buttons have some deterioration and scuffs. The black coat which has no buttons to the front and two buttons to each cuff - all buttons are extremely deteriorated and the jacket is quite worn and tatty and with various repairs. The red/pink jacket is very worn, has no buttons, has various fraying, repairs, inserted sections, etc and is very dirty, stained and faded. Both waistcoats are very stained and worn and bear plain buttons.

India – Sikh Warrior Shingaar or Boar’s tooth. Rare 19th Century gilt and enamel decorated large Sikh Turban ornament. Depicting 5 lion faces characteristic of the famed symbol used by Maharajah Ranjit Singh who was also known as “Shere Punjab” or the lion of Punjab. Still retaining its original huge “jingles” and end chape. Sikh warriors were famed for their hunting skills and the Nihung sect would wear the tooth of their kill as a medallion in recognition of their hunting skills within their Dumalla turbans. No doubt this was made for a large Dumalla or conical turban known as a “Dastar Bunga” (towering fortress). Total length 19cm.
