Leather cased hunting canteen by Merry 21 St James's London, comprising a silver plated sandwich tin and silver mounted glass flask, silver flask mount hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd, London 1913, tin and flask mount stamped Merry St James' St, together with an leather cased plated and glass conical flask, the leather case stamped 'McMULLEN DUBLIN'Sandwich tin with scratches. Some deeper than surface. Light wear to plate. Merry flask with some dents to silver mount and rubbing to hallmark. Conical flask with dent to mount and some oxidation. Leather cases with some scratches. Conical flask case additionally with nick.

Swiss. A fine and rare rose gold open face quarter repeating musical pocket watch Signed Breguet, No.17534, made circa 1820 Key-wound full plate movement with pierced and engraved balance cock, diamond end-stone, winding barrels for the train and music, metal cuvette, white enamel dial with Breguet style numerals, blue-tipped steel hands, hinged case with engine-turned ‘sunburst’ reverse, finely decorated band with farm and hunting scenes, musical activation button, repeating via the pendant. Cuvette, dial and movement signed Breguet, case numbered. Diameter 60mm. Although bearing the name of the famous French horologist, Breguet (1747-1823), this is a period replica. To avoid forgeries, Breguet adopted the use of a ‘secret signature’ by finely scribing the signature onto the dial that couldn't easily be replicated.

Botany.- Ruel (Jean) De natura stirpium libri tres, first Basel edition, the second edition overall, woodcut printer's device to title and final otherwise blank f., woodcut historiated and decorative initials, occasional early ink marginalia, spotted, occasional light staining (including title), lightly browned, contemporary vellum, later leather label to spine, spine lightly soiled, some marking, folio, Basel, [Hieronymus Froben & Nikolaus Episcopius], [March], 1537. *** Rare second edition. The author was physician to Francis I. The text contains descriptions of about 600 plants, based on the works of Theophrastus and Pliny, with the addition of vernacular names where Ruel had been able to obtain them from locals during his plant-hunting expeditions.
