A Regency rosewood and burr walnut tea caddy, sarcophagus form, raised on four bun feet. Width 8 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The caddy is in generally good, untouched, unrestored condition. There are some small issues . Both carrying handles to left and right are missing. The domed top has a small veneer loss to the left hand corner of the burr wood. There are also several small fractures to the veneer none of which are serious. The remainder of the casket is in generally good order. The feet are probably original. One has been reglued. Looking at the casket from the base the left and right hand return rosewood banding is missing. The interior of the casket is in reasonable condition. The left hand compartment lid is warped and there is a small veneer loss to the inside front left edge of the return.
A Regency satinwood and rosewood crossbanded tea caddy, inlaid with a Prince of Wales plume to the lid, with two interior compartments. Width 7 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The caddy is in generally good condition. The top is in good order. Both interior lids are present and are not warped. The lock operates as it should. There are no losses to the body and only minor scuffs and stress marks that one would expect from an item of this age.
A cased set of three silver caddies, by Samuel Taylor, London 1763, each repousse with Chinoiserie figures and foliage, the large caddy 353 grams, the two small caddies 222 grams and 227 grams. Each height 6 ins and housed within a shagreen case with silver coloured metal mounts (see illustration).
