A Fine George I Silver Tea Caddy, Thomas Folkingham, London 1720, the moulded base rising to a rectangular body with moulded corners beneath a sliding cover with domed girdled pull-off cap with cast baluster finial, engraved with an armorial, later French tax marks struck to each piece, 13cm high, 10oz 8dwt In good order and of heavy gauge. Clear marks to the base. The leopard`s head mark to the sliding cover and cap. The arms of the period. 280513

Lotinga Ltd, New Bond Street, London Fully restored, relined, cleaned, restored and varnished and framed in a good quality London made moulding by Lotinga of New Bond Street. Reasonably thick impasto in places and very delicately applied brushwork in other areas. Great deal of surface dirt and discoloured varnish (280113)

A George III ivory single compartment tea caddy, with a domed cover, tortoiseshell borders and an oval white metal plaque within a mother-of-pearl border, 11.5cm high The initials to the plaque are those of Henry Fane, son of Thomas 8th Earl of Westmorland of Fulbeck Hall, Lincs. CONDITION REPORT: Splits to ivory of all side panels. Front panel with minor concave warp. Interior of lid relined and interior lid replaced. Remaining foil worn. Replacement baize to base. Some discolouration to ivory.
