Mark Hawkins of Bury St Edmunds - an early George III mahogany repeating bedroom bracket clock, having a caddy top with brass carry handle, arched brass dial with silvered disc to the arch signed Mark Hawkins St Edmundsbury, silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, single winding hole for a brass eight day wire driven fusee movement with verge escapement, the hour pull repeat striking three hammers on three bells, finely engraved backplate and engraved brackets, the case with glazed sides, back and door, h.49cm (handle up); together with a later mahogany wall bracket (2)Note: Mark Hawkins of Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket was born in 1707 and died 1767. He was the third son of Mark Hawkins Snr. Hawkins had a workshop at the corner of Hatter Street, Cook Row, Bury St Edmunds and a shop in Newmarket. He is listed in detail in Haggar & Miller's Suffolk Clock & Clockmakers.Case re-polished.Some replacement veneers, especially to left of back door, but generally good.All fretwork panels good.Backplate with four very small unexplained holes.Brackets appear original, no sign of others.All brass good.Appears fairly recently overhauled.In running order.Pull repeat and all hammers working.Bracket with new back.

A Worcester porcelain tea caddy, decorated birds and flowers, lacks cover, 9.5 cm high, a similar vase, ground down, 10 cm high, an asparagus server and a pickle leaf dish (4)Report by NGTea Caddy: several cracks in rim. The surface is scratched. Some pock marks in glaze, base marked with crescent mark. Small nibble to corner and glaze pooling.Vase has been shortened, part of decoration missing, top ground down and with some fritting and unevenness. Clay visible is discoloured. No visible restoration. Base discoloured. Glaze pooling and some stray underglaze blue colouring

Four George III hallmarked silver shovel caddy spoons to include a mother of pearl handled example with gilt and engraved bowl, William Pugh, Birmingham 1808, and a pin pricked decorated example with initialled terminal, maker's mark IT, Birmingham 1810 (one af), approx 0.5ozt (4). CONDITION REPORT: Larger mother of pearl example with split to handle, second mother of pearl example with old repair, engraved handle example with splits to the corner points and signs of old repair, fourth example with old repair where handle meets body, all are repaired, misshapen, dented and scratched.

CONDITION REPORT: Ivory handled example with misshapen bowl and slightly crimped rim, surface scratches to all three.
