William Wolfall of London, a late 17th century bracket clock, the brass face with silvered chapter ring, date and pendulum apertures supporting a five-pillar twin train fusee movement with verge escapement and pull repeat in an ebonised caddy top case with gilt metal carrying handle, glass and pierced sides, h. 40 cm CONDITION REPORT: No guarantee as to working order, in our opinion the case is original to the movement but as this is not guaranteed the clock is sold subject to 'no return' on these grounds Please refer to auctioneers EXTRA INFO: The clock has been consigned by executors 1, the movement appears to be original and complete but we are unable to guarantee that component parts of the movement have not been replaced since its manufacture, the winding gut is snapped 2, The case has significant splits to the veneer, typical and consistent with age, the left hand glass has a defect the ververge appears to be original but we cannot guarantee this 3. we know nothing of the maker 4.
