A LARGE 19th CENTURY ORIENTAL BLACK LACQUER AND GILT TEA CADDY/BOX oblong with cut away corners with gilt chinoiserie decoration of figures amongst bamboo and flowering shrubs, the hinged lid enclosing a pair of fitted white metal/antimony lidded containers the top surface and lids with engraved decoration of prunus blossoms and foliate scrolls retaining some of cut paper seals/covers and a pair of loose plain circular inner lids, 15" x 10 3/4" x 11 1/2" high (38 x 27.3 x 29.2cm) with swan neck loop handles (a.f.) together with a VERY SIMILAR SHAPED OVAL BORDERED TRAY, 28" (71CM) wide (a.f.)
