An imposing walnut seaweed marquetry longcase clock, the caddy top hood with fretwork mouldings, 12.25inch dial with silvered calendar ring to the arch, dolphin spandrels below, silvered chapter ring and seconds dial, marked to a recessed oval 'D.Delander, London, No.9', strike silent lever to the right side, mask spandrels, 4 pillar 8 day movement with replacement seatboard, rectangular trunk door and plinth with replaced skirting, restorations, 249cm (97in) Condition report: Case has a warm colour and appropriate looking shrinkage to mouldings. Skirting looks later. Small losses and knocks to case. Trunk lock key present (later lock). Non-original winding key. Good looking dial although we are unsure whether this is the original movement. Movement appears to fit though it is a simple four pillar type. We are unsure as to the authenticity of the Delander name on the dial. Trunk door with loose moulding and part missing (see photo). Slight packing under seatboard. Guiderails possibly replaced. The inside of case appears to have an old colour wash. Two brass case weights present.
