A fine George III mahogany tea caddy, inlaid with ivory, rosewood, satinwood and boxwood, the hinged cover opening to reveal an intricate inlaid panel, the inside lid with geometric engraving, and signed to the edge `M Milner 1780`, 13cm wide, 12.5cm deep, 12.5cm high. See `Dictionary of English Furniture Makers - 1660-1840`, p.611 for Mark Milner of 39 Litchfield Street, Soho, London, as a possible maker. He is listed as working between 1790-1808 as trading with Richard Milner.

A Satinwood Tea Caddy, of rectangular form with canted corners. The lid enriched with ebony inlaid diamonds to the centre and bordering a band of parquetry zig-zags. The inside lid lined with marbled paper and the interior accommodating zinc lined compartments. 4¾ ins (12.5 cms) in height, 6 ins (15 cms) width, 4 ins (10 cms) in depth.

JAMES KEIR HARDIE MEMORABILIA a carved coconut caddy with silver cover and mounts raised on figural supports, presented to Mr. Keir Hardie Nov 4 1907 Note: James Keir Hardie was born in 1856 in Newhouse, North Lanarkshire. In 1900 he organised a meeting of various trade unions and socialist groups and they agreed to form a Labour Representative Committee, and so the Labour Party was born. In 1908 Hardie resigned as leader of the Labour Party and he went on to spend the rest of his life campaigning for votes for women, self-rule for India and an end to segregation in South Africa.

An 18th century mahogany cased bracket clock, with twin fusee movement, the dial having a gilt silvered chapter ring signed `Chris Pinchbeck, London` encircling a matted centre with pierced gilt brass spandrels to the corners and a strike/silent dial in the arch, the caddy top case with gilt brass handle above an arched glazed door, with pierced fretwork sound holes backed in red silk, the brass movement back plate ornately etched with heraldic crest, standing 42 cm high (minus handle), on squat moulded square feet, 26.5 cm wide x 17 cm deep. Illustrated.
