A GEORGE III SILVER TEA CADDY by Hester Bateman, London 1787, oval, the domed cover with flush hinge and urn-form finial, bright-cut engraved with floral swags, pendant flowers and vacant cartouche, the interior with hallmarked silver divider. 13.5cm high, 15cm wide, 15.1 troy ouncesThe marks are clear. The hinge is in good order, and the lid closes well. In generally very good condition commensurate with age.

The neck/ collar of the body may have been reshaped. No holes in the silver. Some rubbing and wear to the embossed work and engraving. Cruxiform caddy - the stopper doesn't sit too tightly in the neck but no signs of shape distortion. No dents. No holes. Marks partly rubbed.
