A 19th century Chinese Export lacquered tea caddy Typically decorated with chinoiserie vignettes, the hinged cover enclosing a pair of lidded canisters, standing on carved dragon mask feet. 29 cm wide. CONDITION REPORTS: Generally in good condition, expected wear, some slight rubbing to decoration.
A William IV black lacquered papier mache bombe shape tea caddy, mother of pearl and painted floral decoration, raised on four feet, width 18cm, a black lacquered papier mache slope front box with mother and pearl and painted floral decoration, height 12cm and a Victorian black lacquered papier mache oval box in the manner of Jennens and Bettridge, mother of pearl and painted decoration, damaged and old repairs, width 26cm (3).
A George III silver teapot and matching caddy, probably by John Lee, London 1783, straight sided serpentine form, bright cut engraved decoration with floral pendants, swags and scrolls, engraved crest of a goats head erased (Tweeddale), matched by monogram, fruitwood handle, ebony finial, 13.5cm, the tea caddy of similar design, hinged lid with loose ring handle, 11.5cm, 29oz gross in total.
