Typical minor wear to extremities. Some splitting to carcass. Interior fittings in poor condition with cover to false base warped and split. Some pieces loose and missing, including inkwells. 270213

A Tunbridgeware Tea Caddy, mid 19th century, of waisted rectangular form, the hinged cover set with a rectangular panel depicting a castellated country house within geometric and foliate borders, opening to reveal a central well flanked by two canisters, the hinged covers with foliate panels, the whole with further foliate and geometric bands, 32cm wide Typical fading of colours throughout leaving some of the flowers on the exterior to be quite poorly defined. Typical minor losses to marquetry decoration throughout, one section 3cm by 1.5cm. Some splitting to veneers and splitting to carcass leading to movement of the veneers. Mixing bowl lacking. Velvet lining to mixing bowl aperture in poor condition and 3cm by 1cm section of veneer surrounding aperture missing. Some wear, pitting and scratching to surface throughout. 270213
