A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH BRASS AND PORCELAIN PANEL CLOCK, the caddy pediment with five turned finials, two turned columns to the front, the rectangular porcelain dial with silvered ground and gilded and enamelled in relief with foliage blossom, harebells, birds and a butterfly, white and black Arabic numerals, the two porcelain side panels with similar decoration, eight day movement, striking on a bell on the hour and half hour, the movement stamped Japy Freres and 3730 14.7, the pendulum also numbered 3730, on a stepped rectangular base with four flattened bun feet, height 34cm, with pendulum and key (Condition Report: clock winds, runs and chimes but was striking one hour ahead at time of report, the porcelain panels are all intact, there is some wear to the foliate engraving on the sloped section just below the dial, the paper lining inside the movement door has a couple of rips, otherwise in fairly good condition)

SIX ITEMS OF 19TH AND EARLY 20TH CENTURY TREEN, comprising an Edwardian oak desk stand with silver plated mounts, the top with loop carry handle and pen rest, lacks ink wells, fitted with a locking drawer to the base, width 35cm x depth 24.5cm, a Sorrento tea caddy of shaped square form, in need of restoration, height 12.5cm x width 11cm, a whip with dog's head handle with a bell on its collar, on a hazel shaft, length excluding leather whip 50cm and three wooden kitchen? moulds, two stamped to the sides 'ASHMEAD 10 DUKE S' and 'ASHMEAD 10 DUKE ST GROSVENOR SQUARE' (George Benjamin Ashmead was first listed as a taxidermist at 10 Duke Street, Grosvenor Square in 1830, in 1866 they moved to 32 Bishopsgate), largest 23cm x 5.5cm, shortest 20.3cm x 7.8cm (6) (Condition Report: the desk stand lacks inkwells and has lifting to one inkwell frame where the screw is missing, the tea caddy has losses to the moulding and inlay, the whip has a chipped ear, worn ear tips and nose, the hazel shaft is likely to be a replacement, the three moulds are in reasonable condition, commensurate with age and use, two have holes in the back, the oak leaf and acorn mould has a small split)

A William & Mary ebonised eight-day, bell striking, bracket clock, John Wrench, Chester, the caddy top with gilt handle and pierced and engraved repoussé worked caddy, the case with canted corners, gilt metal mounted with arched glass to the sides, on claw and ball feet fitted a four-pillar two-train fusee movement with verge escapement, the brass dial with signed silver chapter ring, and an engraved signed back plate, the case 38cm high/Note: Baillie records John Wrench, Chester, 1690-1717/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: 27th April 2017:- Full mechanical overhaul, including replacement of strike mainspring, silver solder repair to locking arbour, replacement locking wheel, 2 pivots straightened, new knife edge to verge, new pendulum rod and bob, new pendulum lock, repair to calendar ring and new teeth cut to fit, calendar wheel re-cut and new collet and post made, all pivots burnished, 4 bushes to strike, 4 bushes to going, strike silent lever made and fitted, screw heads recut as original, new case bolt made, new lock to front door, dial cleaned and re-silvered, movement polished and cleaned, replacement gut lines fitted etc.There are two spare holes to the left hand side of the backplate, otherwise complete. The front plate has one small hole opposite lower hole on backplate. Clock is at present in working order and has been for many years at the vendors property. Condition otherwise good.

A George III silver tea caddy,by Pierre Gillois, London 1765, of bombe form, with chased floral and foliate decoration, on four scrolled feet, the cover surmounted by a finial modelled as a squirrel, 14.5cm high7.5ozt Condition ReportThe hallmarks are crisp and clear. Deeper scratches to the base, with dents to the overhanging decoration. Rocks slightly on a flat surface. The finial is a little loose. Visible join line to the rim of the cover. The lid's join line looks to be manufacture. Finial possibly later. The crevives to the edges are a design feature and not damage. Please see the additional images.
