Style of Robert McGregor (19th/20th century) "The Young Brother"; "A Young Boy Gathering Wood" (previously titled "The Young Caddy")] Both inscribed with their respective titles by a later hand verso, oil on canvas board, 67cm by 32cm (26 1/2in by 12 1/2in), and 75cm by 31.5cm (29 1/2in by 12 1/2in) respectively (2) *Provenance. With Alex Drysdale, Gilders and Framers, 48 Frederick Street, Edinburgh also with the Summa Gallery, 527 Amsterdam Avenue, New York NY 10024 and 125 Montague Street, Brooklyn, New York NY 11201 *Stylistically the works resemble both Robert McGregor and David Fulton (1848-1930). Many of the Scottish artists and English artists of this period were influenced by Bastien-Lepage who painted en plein-air and influenced such important figures as Sir George Clausen (1852-1944)
