An early 18c eight day longcase clock, the 12" arched brass dial signed Peter Collomby, London and having female head spandrels, date, seconds and strike/silent in the arch. The five pillar movement is rack striking on a bell and has anchor escapement. It is contained in a walnut case, the hood having full arch surmounted by a caddy which has a broken arch pediment with three finials over. The long trunk door is of well figured walnut with stringing and crossbanding around its edges and a raised edge moulding. The cut down base now has a plain plinth, the case is in need of extensive restoration with the trunk door detached and the hood needing replacement mouldings, 89" tall overall.
