John Wainwright of Nottingham - late 18th century 8-day oak longcase c1795, with a caddy top, blind fret frieze beneath and four attached hood pillars and capitals, long trunk door with a break arch top on a short plinth with applied skirting and shaped base, painted dial with tumbling Arabic's for the hours and minutes, floral spandrels within a gesso border and bird of paradise to the dial centre, matching steel hands and date aperture, dial pinned directly to a rack striking movement, striking the hours on a bell.
