Two train flat bed turret clock, manufactured by Foster and Co, Mayes St, Manchester, the movement drives to a single face with a countwheel for the hourly strike, the 4" dial signed Foster, Manchester, within a dark green painted cast iron housing fixed to a bespoke made oak trough (with pendulum rod, five weights and three pulleys) ** This clock was fitted to the Compstall Cooperative Society shop premises in Market Street, Marple in Cheshire. Bell, Leeds on a foliate shaped plate beneath six o'clock, the five pillar movement with maintaining power, the back door with vertical release mechanism and three shuttered apertures, also with slow/fast lever to the top and inscribed 'Mary Clarke, the Gift of her Husband 17th Jan 1877', also inscribed to the movement back plate J.W.
