The case with moulded surround and chisel shaped drop box.The dial has been repainted but is original to movement and case, the wire on the movement has detached from the spring barel but ticks when pressure is applied to the fusee barel. Nice original clock of very unusual size.

A FINE EARLY 18TH CENTURY EBONY VENEERED PULL QUARTER REPEATING BRACKET CLOCK the inverted bell top case surmounted by a brass S scroll handle and urn finials above a brass bound mould and arched glazed door with pierced gilt sound frets enclosing a 7" arched brass dial with gilt pierced brass masked spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a signed matted centre with mock pendulum and calendar aperture, the arch with subsidiary regulation dial and Strike/Not Strike lever fronting an eight-day double fusee movement with five finned knopped pillars, rise and fall verge escapement and pull quarter repeating on six bells and hour strike on a larger bell, foliate engraved backplate and engraved bob pendulum.43cm high not including handleThe clock is in very nice condition and the movement, case and dial are all original to each other. The very top of the pediment has a joint split running across the front and the sides. Some Minor splits to the veneer to the case due to shrinkage. The dial is clean and nicely gilded to the spandrel and there is a very small section of the top right spandrel missing at 3 o'clock. The movement is complete and in working condition,  chiming the correct quarters. The hour striking bell is present but has snapped on the bell staff and will need attention. The clock was previously sold by Millington Adams several years prior with a price tag of £27,900.

The back glass panel has a chip in the corner and the top glass panel has chips to the left edge. The dial has a small crack in the top left corner which is not visible unless tipped upside down. The movement is complete, striking and repeating the correct hours and ticking with the original lever escapement but may need a service.

The movement looks clean but we would advise a service. Bot dials are in very nice condition with no cracks or chips. There is a small chip to the front corner of the top mould on the left hand side, but there is no other damage or restoration.

AN UNUSUAL 19TH CENTURY 24 HOUR 12” FUSEE DROP DIAL WALL CLOCK with painted dial and spun brass bezel fronting an eight-day fusee movement with shouldered plates and anchor escapement. The drop box case with oval lenticel and moulded surround55cm high 39cm wideThe clock is in good overall condition, the case has a shrinkage split in the moulded surround, the top edge of the surround has been repaired, there are also two fine splits in the veneer on either side of the pendulum aperture, the brass bezel has several splits to the edge and the hinge has been replaced, the dial has the original white ground, one of the dial feet has been refitted and is visible to the front. The moment is original to dial but is very dirty and would need a clean and service, the dial foot which has been refitted having been reglued with epoxy. It is a wire driven fusee.

The movement has a replaced seatboard and is blocked up slightly on the cheeks, the movement is original to dial and the dial is in good condition. The movement is clean and looks to have been recently serviced but is missing the outside countwheel. In our opinion the signature on the dial plate is original. It comes with original brass cased weights.
