B, serial number 319. Contained in a lovely case with Japanese side panels consisting of birds, boat and Japanese figures with enamel-style colours. Front and back panels are bevelled glass. An exceptionally fine engraved James McCabe London twin fusée carriage clock, No. 2967, striking on a gong with repeat. This lovely clock has a two-train chain-driven fusée movement with a balance escapement, signed and numbered on the backplate with a 2½" x 4" brass dial with engravings of flowers and swags. Roman numerals with a cartouche engraved with: 'James McCabe Royal Exchange London 2967' and fleur-de-lys hands. The brass case has 4 plain pillars, bevelled glass panels with fine brass engraved borders. Standing on small brass bun feet.Dimensions: 8"(to top of handle) x 4½" x 3½".Condition: Good condition, some slight tarnishing of lacquer on the case. Working at time of cataloguing but the movement is not fully tested. With key (not original).
