PARIS, the case with a classical female laying beneath a circular eight day coloured movement with blue and white Roman numerals, supported on a white marble base. 20ins wide, 15ins high. Note: The Raingo house was established in 1813 and specialised in the high precision clock making during the empire and restoration period. They patented some astronomical clock models. In 1830 Raingo settled in 8 Rue de Touraine and in 1841 the Raingo brothers added bronzes of art and furnishings to their catalogue. In 1860 they supplied bronzes to the Emperor and the Empress. They collaborated with prestigious cabinet makers in particular François Linke.
