The rear of the movement is also engraved with 'PARIS' - the underside is engraved with '7627' and has the following dates also engraved (assumed to be service dates) Aug 10 1905, July 9 1907, April 27 1917 - Roman and Arabic numerals to the face - blued steel hands - the clock can be adjusted to be 'Full Striking' 'Silent' or striking on the 'Quarters' - comes with two keys - gilt brass case - bevelled glass throughout Condition: - no recent service history - the glazing is in good condition as is the case Weight: 2.044Kgs Dimensions: Width: 9.5cms Depth: 8.5cms Height (excluding the handle): 13.5cms Height (including the handle): 16.5cms A note about the manufacturer: the Jacot clock making factory was based at St.-Nicholas-d'Aliermont with the shop at 31 Rue de Montmorency in Paris. Henri Jacot the elder died in 1868 and was succeeded in the business by his nephew of the same name. It was this nephew who was responsible for a series of carriage clocks, all of which were marked with the appropriate initials. The serial numbers range from 387 to 19,000. The company ceased trading in 1920 making this carriage clock a genuine antique
