There is a very slight surface loss to the enamel on the ‘blue’ lowest leaf on the front left hand pillar. It is very minor.

Wood-rod pendulum with brass bob. The movement requires a clean and full service. The dial paint appears original, the signature is visible faintly. The case is overall of a pleasing colour and in good condition, some marks and knocks consistent with age. A small ebonised fillet is chipped and loose from just under the hood at the top centre of the trunk. Another piece is chipped and lost to the right corner.

He illustrates a virtually identical tripod clock by Cole, item 40, page 115.The retailers of this clock are Phillips Brothers and they are recorded at 23 Cocksure Street 1856-69.
