The travelling case in reasonably good condition.

A FRENCH GILT BRONZE-MOUNTED GARNITURE DE CHEMINEE inset with plaques of platinum ground porcelain painted with coastal scenes in polychrome and red `jewelled` borders, the clock with ogee pediment and fluted pillars flanked by a pair of two handled oviform vases, on stepped square base, the circular movement with medallic backplate and striking on a bell, clock 30cm h, giltwood and maroon velvet plinths with ebonised bases and glass shades, c1870 In a fine state of preservation with some natural accretion of dirt and grime, the lacquer almost certainly original and in basically good condition, lacking one or two of the tiny red enamel jewels, the plinths and glass domes original with cords. A good example of the type

A BRAMELD BLUE PRINTED EARTHENWARE CASTLE OF ROCHEFORT PATTERN SOUP TUREEN AND COVER AND A MEAT DISH AND DRAINER the dish with moulded gravy tree and well, 53cm w, impressed BRAMELD+1 and/or printed mark or impressed floral wreath mark, c1825 Tureen with chip on the inner flange not visible when the lid is in position, star crack on the interior, cover two minor hairline cracks but not chipped, dish - the glaze and blue in the centre with some localised pitting, descending hairline crack at 12 o`clock on the underside, one of the bracket feet chipped. Drainer - insignificant feint hairline crack on the underside but in otherwise good condition
A SÈVRES BLEU LAPIS CUP AND SAUCER (GOBELET `LITRON` ET SOUCOUPE) painted by Antoine Caton, the cup with a soldier, a drum on his back, pointing to a castle, the saucer with a martial trophy, including a trumpet, lying on the ground before a fortress in plain gilt frame and cisélé border of festoons and garlands, the rim dentilated on the interior or exterior, saucer 13.5cm diam, incised 41 or [indistinct] painted interlaced Ls enclosing date letters hh for 1785 and painter`s five-pointed star mark at 12 o`clock in blue Provenance: An English private collection since the late 19th century. Minute firing blemish on the blue ground of the cup (on side near foot) caused during manufacture. No restoration or regilding etc
A PAIR OF VINCENNES BLEU LAPIS BEAKERS finely painted to both sides with panels of musical instruments including a bass viol or bagpipes and a tambourine, or game, a rifle and table with a bottle and napkin, all in sylvan settings in cisélé gilt cartouches with flowers and reeds, the rims dentilated on the interior and exterior, 7cm h, incised A and one or two dashes, painted interlaced Ls enclosing the date letter B for 1754-55 and painter`s mark y at 12 o`clock in blue Svend Eriksen and Sir Geoffrey de Bellaigue have suggested the painter`s mark is that of Pierre-Francois Yvernel (Sèvres, p167, no 135). See also D Peters, Decorator and Date Marks on 18th century Vincennes and Sèvres Porcelain, 1997, p85. Provenance: An English private collection since the late 19th century. One with tiny chip (really only a graze) on the edge of the base, partly gilded over during manufacture. The other with several small, old filled rim chips. No recent or `professional` restoration or regilding.
