A Victorian rosewood clock by W N Farnham of Lyme Regis, the single fusee movement seated behind a painted dial with Roman numerals, minute track and Poire hands, in a drop-dial case with plinth mounted as a mantel clock 46cm high. Provenance: The vendor`s father was Lord Lister`s gardener. The clock was formerly in the stable block at Lyme Regis.

A late 19c Austrian mantel clock in the form of a miniature longcase clock. The oak case has swan neck pediments to the hood and the 4" square dial is flanked by turned columns. The trunk has turned quarter columns and it, and the base, have central carved panels. The square brass dial has brass spandrels and a silvered chapter ring and the Leuzkirch two train movement strikes hours and halves on a gong, 19" tall overall

A mid 18c eight day longcase clock , the 12" arched brass dial signed Sam Buxton, Diss and having scroll spandrels, a matted dial centre and unmatched steel hands. There is a moon phase dial in the arch and seconds and date indicators. The five pillar movement is rack striking on a bell. It is housed in a mahogany case, the hood having a flat cresting with three finials and a row of Greek key moulding below. There are plain columns flanking the dial and fluted quarter columns to the trunk which has a long trunk door with arched top. The base has a later high plinth added with a wavy plinth beneath, 91" tall overall
A wall clock, the 28 cm diameter painted dial signed W W Kemp, Bristol, with Roman numerals, fitted a single fusee movement, in a mahogany case, 18 cm diameter Condition report Report by JB Wooden case to clock displays general signs of wear, marks and knocks and nicks, and some light rubbing. The dial face displays noticeable wear both around the exterior rim and across the face, with some loss, most noticeably around the 6 o'clock region and centre, and noticeable loss to winding section. A light crazing effect can also be observed across the whole of the dial, again coupled with loss. Hands loose, movement appears to be intact with no major damage of note. Henri Jacot, Paris a gorge-cased carriage clock: the eight-day duration movement striking and repeating the hours and half-hours on a gong, the backplate stamped with the Henri Jacot trademark and numbered 19713, with a platform lever escapement, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands, height: 14cm (handle up) * Biography Henri Jacot is recorded as working in Paris from circa 1850. He died in 1868 when he was succeeded by his nephew.
Charles Hour, Paris, a boulle-work mantle clock:, the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell, with a sunburst bob to the pendulum, the backplate stamped with the trademark of the maker Charles Hour along with the serial number 693, the cast gilt-brass dial with blue Roman numerals to the porcelain plaques and blued steel hands, the red boulle case with engraved brass inlay to the red tortoiseshell, cast brass mounts, a cherub to the bottom of the glazed door, splayed feet and surmounted by a cherub blowing a horn to the top, height, 46cm. * Biography The firm was founded by Diette in 1852 who worked with Forin, before taking on a partnership with Charles Hour sometime after 1866. The trademark of D.H was changed to C.H in circa 1900 when Charles Hour took sole ownership. They were well-known maker`s of carriage & mantel clocks with an address at 7 Rue Saint-Anastase, Paris.
A Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos clock:, the brass and glass case with canted corners and signed on the front glass Jaeger-LeCoultre, the movement also signed by the maker along with the serial number 127061, the round white chapter ring having raised Arabic and Dauphine numerals with brass Dauphine hands, the underside of the case marked with the calibre number 526-5, height: 22.5cm. Complete with original travelling case and outer cardboard box. * Biography Jaeger-LeCoultre were established in 1833 by Charles Antoine Le Coultre in Le Sentier in the Valle de Joux and obtained the current name after the merger with chronometer maker Edward Jaeger in 1937 who, having worked for the firm for twenty years, turned it into one of the finest maker`s of watches in the world.

Biography * The Lenzkirch clockmaking concern was founded in 1849 by Eduard Houser and Ignaz Schopperle in the town of Lenzkirch, originally making movements to be sent out to clockmaker`s for the final finish. By 1865 new financial backing allowed the company to grow considerably and complete clocks were now made within their own factory. They became a part of the Junghans business in 1829.
