After Claude Michel Clodion (French, 1738-1814): A late 19th/early 20th century carved marble figural mantel clockthe case inscribed D'apres Clodionthe case carved as a reclining female nude, lying on a skin rug, her arm resting above the 3.75' floral enamel Arabic dial set within a gilt foliate bezel, the brass twin train movement striking on a bell with pendulum, 32cm high, 53cm wide, 25.5cm deepFootnotes:In 1776 Claude-Michel, known as Clodion, embarked on the highly ambitious project of executing a series of interior designs for the architect Alexandre-Théodore Brogniart (d.1813) for the luxurious interiors at the Hôtel de Besenval in Paris. The Salle de Bains, ultimately completed in 1782, featured a pair of palatial limestone reliefs depicting Venus and Cupid and Leda and the Swan and Pan Pursuing Syrinx, two pairs of vases, and a large fountain of the present reclining nude, titled Vue de la Naïade allongée, dite La Source (A. Poulet, Clodion: 1738-1814, Paris, 1992, pp. 248-251).Proving to be an enduring image, La Source was creatively fitted as a clock by the 19th century's preeminent ébénistes and bronziers. Most interestingly, François Linke produced the model in at least two versions, including a bronze and white marble edition similar to the present lot (C. 1940s silver desk clock of hexagonal form, with a Swiss movement and white enamel dial, with red enamelled numerals and subsidiary seconds dial (Birmingham 1946). Dial glass missing. 6.5cm across.Condition report: General overall condition good, silver case has some minor scratching and surface wear, dial is good, hour hand is bent, dial glass is missing. Clock is not going and appears to have been overwound.
Cartier Les Must de Cartier desk clock/travel alarm clock and matching photograph frame, each with grey enamel and gilded brass frame in fitted box. Signed and numbered 7509 28409 and 8509 04395. Frame measures approximately 90mm x 72mmCondition report: The clock and photograph frame are both in good condition commensurate with age. The clock is not working, the hands and alarm appear to adjust correctly. The grey enamel finish to the photograph frame has very minor bubbles/blistering to the finish but look as if it's probably within the manufacture. Original Cartier box is also in good condition.

Late 19th century bracket clock retailed by Thomas Russell & Son of Liverpool & London with Westminster chiming fusee movement striking on 8 bells, in ebonised case with brass mounts, with matching wall bracket, approximately 53cm high excluding bracketCondition report: General overall condition is very good, clock has a chain driven fusee movement and both movement and dial are clean, case is good, some scuffing, particularly inside front door and back, minor cracking to veneer, four corner pineapple finials are loose and there is no key to rear door, some minor wear to gilding. This clock came from a deceased estate, the gentleman was a collector and we are advised he regularly had his clocks maintained. We have not had this particular clock going and therefore we are unable to confirm if it is in full working order.

Movement is twin chain driven fusee and appears to be in working order. Dial is good condition, minute hand is slightly bent. Case is good, some scuffing, woodwork generally good. Fret dimensions 8.5cm wide by 23.0cm overall height.
