Royal Doulton – The Clockmaker - HN2279 - a hand painted ceramic figure / figurine of a clockmaker standing behind his work bench with a bracket clock on top. Maker’s marks to base Rd No. 896639, 40469, 8487, 84/88. Measures approx.; 20cm. Condition; all lots within this auction appear in excellent condition, with no visible damage or repairs present. However, this statement should not be considered a forensic report and buyers are politely reminded of the need to satisfy themselves as to such elements prior to bidding, and that all lots will remain sold 'as is'.

A mahogany bracket clock, eight day duration, double fusee movement having a verge escapement and striking the hours on a bell with fully engraved back plate signed Eardley Norton London. With rise and fall regulation and raised silver chapter ring with black Roman numerals the matted centre with date aperture and alarm setting disc with cast brass and scroll spandrels to the four corners. The arch having two subsidiary dials for strike/silent and engraved in scroll Eardley Norton London. '224' etched on back. Est. £1500 - £2000.

Interior with presentation inscription, when wound currently functioning.
GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS CO; an Edward VII hallmarked silver cased carriage clock of rectangular form, with shaped swing handle, the case with repoussé decoration of cherubs, cupid and exotic birds and animals surrounding the dial set with Arabic numerals, on four bun feet, London 1902, height including swing handle 10cm.Condition Report: Light tarnishing, denting to the case throughout, polish residue remains to the dial and to the fingers, the case back has been engraved with initials and dated 1903, slight misshaping to the case, the movement winds but does not function.

A 19th century French onyx and champleve enamel three piece clock garniture, the four glass clock of rectangular form with stepped onyx top, the circular dial set with Arabic numerals and flanked by a pair of enamelled Corinthian columns, on four bun feet, height 32cm, and a pair of enamelled urn vases on onyx plinth bases, height 23cm (3).Condition Report: On the urns, there are minor chips to the onyx plinth bases, the clock with chipping to the onyx on both rims, minor losses to the enamel decoration, complete with mercury pendulum, we offer no guarantee of working order for the clock.Glass to the door with chips / cracks to two corners. Upper left corner to the glass on the right hand side with a chip. Glass to the back door with a small chip to bottom right corner.
