RUGBY UNION- ENGLAND 1906 Excellent Onyx clock with plate inscription on front stating "Presented to Mr R.Dibble Bridgwater Albion Football Club by the Town & District as a token of esteem and to mark his gaining International Honours 1906". Robert Dibble was born in Bridgwater in 1882 and made his England debut v Scotland on March 17th 1906 whilst a player at Bridgwater Albion RFC. He took part in the 1908 British Lions tour to New Zealand and Australia and made 22 appearances for England and the British Lions between 1906 and 1912 He died in 1963 aged 81 The clock measures 11" x 12" and comes with key and pendulum although it is not known if it is in working order. Asmall piece of the onyx surround has broken off but the piece is enclosed and could be restored. There have been minor repairs to the surface of the onyx over the years. As described

A drop dial wall clock, the white enamelled dial inscribed "B R (W)." and bearing Roman numerals, the later case inscribed "GWR" CONDITION REPORTS Face has heavy scratching and crazing. Case has a large knock near the G. Otherwise has general wear and scratches, knocks etc, conducive with age and use. We can make no guarantees as to whether or not this clock is working, and it is not currently ticking. The bottom flap opens to reveal applied label inscribed "GWR No 7772". It is in need of a clean. Appears to have been refurbished at some point.
