An early 20th century longcase / grandfather clock having a fabulous three train movement chiming on gong together with music cylinder. The silvered dial on brass face with shaped spandrels having the arch with Whittington, Westminster and St Michael dial. The oak case with arched hood and glass cover, brass chains and weights to the trunk. Measures 189cm tall.
China, Republic, Nanking Government, Order of the Brilliant Jade, Second Class set of insignia, comprising sash badge, width (measured 10 o’ clock to 2 o’ clock) 77.5mm, with suspension including usual decorated tie (but no five-pointed star), and breast star, width (measured 10 o’ clock to 2 o’ clock) 88mm; both elements in silver-gilt, silver and enamels with carved red centres, reverses bearing two sets of archaic Chinese characters and with impressed serial number ‘12’, also carrying French swan import marks (as used for foreign articles of unknown origin), extremely fine, without sash (2)

A Silver Cased French Carriage Clock, movement stamped S F, Chester hallmark, dated 1906, cream enamel face with Roman dial, approx 14 x 7.5 x 5 cms, the clock case inscribed 'To Livingstone Walker Esq as a token of gratitude from Mrs E Brotherton, 1910. Provenance: Livingstone Walker (1879-1940), English cricketer. His first-class career lasted from 1900-1904. He captained Surrey in 1903.
