To forecast the weather, you can set the wind direction and align the central disc with the steel pointer on the dial. Adjusting the altitude correction involves rotating the rear cover until the arrow lines up with the appropriate level on the scale engraved on the side of the case. By considering whether the pressure has been rising, falling, or remaining steady, along with the season (summer or winter), you can read the letter that appears within the corresponding sector in the center of the dial. A detailed description of its operation can be found on page 89 of Banfield's book "BAROMETERS Aneroid and Barographs", with an illustration on page 87.

Excellent condition, printed onto fine art paper."This iconic image of David Bowie as The Thin White Duke was taken by renowned Rock photographer, John Rowlands, on February 26th, 1976, at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Canada. Having seen the previous evening’s show on the 1976 Station To Station tour, Rowlands was primed to capture the image of Bowie as The Archer while the singer was preparing to fire his imaginary bow and arrow. The pose was used as a signal for Bowie's lighting engineer to kill the lights. The picture was taken moments before the lights were killed. Rowlands took the shot about 30 feet away from the stage and he credits his Hasselblad camera for producing an image that is striking in its sharp tonal range of whites, blacks and grays".

A FINE 22-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN, SIGNED LEGROS À PARIS, no visible serial number, circa 1800 with later conversion to percussion from flintlock, probably by the maker, blued 30in. barrels, the top of the left hand barrel signed in large gold-filled script 'LEGROS', the right barrel 'A PARIS' in a similar script, gold band at muzzle, white-metal blade fore-sight bisected lengthways by a gilt arrow device inlet to the rib, deeply struck oval French proof marks of a crown over 'HR' to both breech-blocks, engraved brushed bright top-tang featuring a depiction of a harpy and a portrait of a male within the carved sighting groove, engraved drum and nipple conversions, the radiused bevel edged locks engraved with partial borders of tulips and featuring an eagle above a recumbent rabbit on the left lock-tail and a lion on the right, both locks signed 'LEGROS A PARIS' below a floral flourish and retaining the rear half of the pan drains as fences, carved and engraved hammers featuring male portraits within a running vine of tulip flowers, finely chequered walnut half-stock carved with floral decoration around the top-tang and a realistic depiction of a wild boar's head to the base of the grip, raised cheek-piece with gadrooned border, engraved iron furniture, the capped heel-plate featuring masks of wild beasts blowing hunting horns, the pillared trigger-guard bow with a hunter and his dog within a woodland setting and a vase finial, a further eagle and stag engraved to the complex fore-end cap, turned ramrod thimbles and probable original worm-ended ramrod with gilded tip, fitted with iron swivels.
