WW2 British Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers Air Landing Maroon Beret, very good example of the classic WW2 maroon beret issued to the British airborne forces. Fitted with brass REME kings crown cap badge. Leather trim and black cloth lining to the interior. Leather patch over the gromets and lining stamped with war department broad arrow and date letter “Z” (1945). Beret shows just light service wear.
16 Bore Regulation Percussion Carbine for Native Troops (Cavalry), lock stamped Enfield 1861 with crowned VR and stamped I beneath broad arrow, barrel with Enfield proofs and deeply stamped 621, regulation brass mounts, steel saddle bar and ring, steel slings and swivel ramrod, stock with storekeeper’s mark (faint). WW2 Parachute Regiment Maroon Beret, well worn example of the maroon beret issued to the British airborne troops. Beret is fitted with an other ranks beret badge with lug fittings. Leather trim to the beret and leather backing to the side gromets. Black cloth lining to the interior with stamped war department broad arrow and date letter “Z” (1945). Very well worn with some moth damage.
3rd Pattern Fairbairn Sykes (F.S) Commando Knife, with one piece ribbed steel handle and black painted brass top nut fitting. Oval cross guard stamped “ENGLAND”. Broad arrow stamp to the lower section of the grip. Stiletto type double edged blade retaining much of the original blued finish. Housed In the original leather scabbard with metal tip, leg tabs and back strap with cloth securing tie. Blade 16cms, overall 34cms.
WW1 Royal Flying Corps Mark V Cockpit Watch with Movement by Doxa, circular black dial with brass hands and subsidiary second hand dial. Arabic numbers and to the centre “30 HOUR NON LUMINOUS MARK V”. Movement to the reverse marked Doxa. Reverse of the case stamped with “A” over broad arrow. Appears to be in working order but we do not guarantee accuracy. Some signs of restoration to the dial, sold as a static collectors display piece. A/F.
WW1 Royal Flying Corps Cowl Pattern Flying Helmet, fine full length soft brown leather flying helmet complete with the original ear rolls and securing strap with buckle fitting. Chamois and fur lining to the interior of the helmet. Nicely stamped with size 7 ¼ and war department broad arrow. Some light scuffing to the lower section on one side bur otherwise a very good example.
