We do not have headspace gauges. The scope has an internal scratch to the objective lens which is not visible when sighting through it. The scope is clear to look through and adjusts correctly.
Martini Henry .577 / 450 MkII volunteer rifle, the inside of the stock bearing original owners name 'Alfred Aglward Majaba 27th Feb 1881' the 32 inch barrel fitted with folding leaf sight up to 1300 yards, the rest of the rifle fitted out with standard specification military parts some of which bear WD Arrow marks.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. 32 inch barrel.Condition report: The rifle has a dark overall patina. Most of the bluing has turned matt dark brown, there are worn patches around the muzzle, butt plate, trigger guard etc. The stock has lots of knocks and small dents but nothing defacing. The bore is almost mint with only very light surface speckling. There is slight surface pitting to the exterior metalwork but nothing major. The action appears to function correctly.
