A good WWII Canadian 7x50 military binocular, individual eyepiece focus, top stamped with broad arrow “CGB 40 MA/7x50/ 18641-C” on one side and “R.E.L/ Canada/ 1944” on the other, with strap, in its dark brown leather case with shoulder strap, stamped inside the top “C” and broad arrow “3-44”. Near VGC and evidently little used.

A .577” Enfield 3 band percussion rifle, 54½” overall, barrel 38¼” with 3 groove rifling, the lock marked with crown over “VR” and “1858 Tower”, walnut fullstock, the butt stamped with broad arrow over “1858” in circle, regulation brass mounts, the butt plate tang stamped “IC” over “504”, with sling swivels, steel ramrod, leather sling, and a triangular socket bayonet. GWO & basically GC (worn overall, the steel parts have been pitted and cleaned, the bayonet pitted overall). Plate 6
A good 10 bore 1839 pattern percussion musket, 55” overall, blackened barrel 39” with ordnance inspector’s marks at the breech and with fixed block rearsight, secured to the fore end with 3 flat wedges; the transitional style lock plate with double line border, engraved with crowned “VR” over “Tower”, and with lock inspector’s mark; the dark walnut fullstock stamped on the butt with broad arrow over “BO”, number “195” and stock maker’s “T Ashton”, with regulation brass mounts, Lovell’s pattern spring bayonet catch, and steel ramrod; with its triangular socket bayonet by Salter & Co. GWO and in nicely patinated untouched condition. The blackened barrel suggests that it may have been intended for Sea Service. See front cover
