An interesting set of WD equipment marking numerals, brass nos 0-9 set in wooden handles, 3½” long, some stamped broad arrow, 1916, maker’s name J C Hallam Manchester, and a similar alphabet set, similarly marked, on small wooden blocks 1” long, similarly marked, in their original (?) cardboard boxes (worn). A German Nazi Naval Officer's Dirk, with W.K.C. fullered steel blade, the gilt brass hilt with fouled anchor cast and chased crossguard, wire bound wrythen fluted cream plastic grip, eagle and swastika pommel, the brass scabbard engraved with zigzag arrow motifs and with velvet and grossgrain double hanging strap.
A Zulu Hide Shield, of elliptical form, with central woven double band decoration; five African spears with leaf shaped blades, twisted decoration to the sockets, wooden shafts with coiled iron finials; two similar spears with plain sockets; an African spear with short hide bound shaft set with long strands of hair; an Indian self bow and arrow. A Scottish clan brooch, designed as a foliate scroll engraved fastened belt, with central cast crest for Mackenzie, composed of a gem set stag’s head shot through with an arrow with red enamelled tip, an armoured arm holding a sword and a red enamelled hand, inscribed DIA’S MO DHUTAICH-FIDE-PARTA-FIDE Diameter 9cm The Latin motto FIDE-PARTA-FIDE translates as By Faith Obtained, By Faith Increased. Meanwhile the Gaelic inscription DIA’S MO DHUTAICH may be interpreted as God’s Own Country.

A 19th century British Military percussion carbine rifle, the 26.5in steel barrel with four various proof marks to breach, with engraved swan neck hammer, the lock with Tower and VR crown mark and date ‘1852’, fully stocked, stamped with military arrow, ‘BO’ beneath and ‘D.J. Condon’, with brass trigger guard, butt plate and ramrod.
A FRENCH SMALLSWORD, mid 18th century, with 28 1/2in. blade of colichemarde form with thickened forte, small arrow shaped mark to ricasso, the brass hilt decorated with flowers, foliage and martial trophies, the double guard decorated with archery equipment, round pommel, knuckle-bow, copper wire-bound grip and large pas d'ane rings (some pitting and damage to grip binding).
A .65 FLINTLOCK NEW LAND PATTERN SERVICE PISTOL, storekeepers mark dated ‘1800’, 15in. overall, with tapering barrel, flat bevelled bolted lock marked 'Tower' on the stepped tail and with 'GR' cypher below the pan, regulation walnut three-quarter stock (minor crack to fore-end) stamped 'BO' and broad arrow, and numerous inspection marks, regulation brass mounts, and stirrup ramrod (iron parts discoloured throughout), small King's proof marks.

Black beaded cloth unevenly faded. Front cover splitting spine edge. Surgeons small rubber stamp title page (1).
BR(E) Enamel Station Direction Sign SOUTHEND SHOEBURYNESS, F/F and with right facing feathered arrow. Measures 36" x 18" and although having some edge chipping and minor face scratches, it is extremely rare. Essex stations such as these two were fitted with totems but all the Southend ones seem to have been destroyed and only one Shoeburyness is known.
Diesel Flame Cut Cabside 03 382. Ex BR Diesel Mechanical 0-6-0 Class 03, built Swindon November 1961 and originally numbered D2382. Withdrawn October 1983 and cut up at Swindon in February 1986. This superb panel retains its cab grab rail and large B.R. double arrow logo. 03 Flame Cut Cabsides are extremely scarce.
