AN IMPRESSIVE 19TH CENTURY BRONZE CANNON BY HENRY & CORNELIUS KING, the barrel of tapering three stage form, incised with the crowned monogram of Lord Mulgrave (Master General of Ordanance 1810-1819), the second reinforce ring numbered 'MDCCLII' and drilled with two holes, possibly for a fore-sight, the first reinforce with crowned monogram of George III within the Garter, signed and dated base ring '1814', plain trunnions, knob shaped cascabel with Blomefield pattern ring and mount for an elevating screw, quarter sight markings to either side and stamped underneath with the weight '6-0-6' and fitted with later adjustable back-sight, stamped with a broad arrow mark and '11 1866 9pr, Bronze gun S.S No 1752. RGF WD', mounted on an finely crafted English oak carriage with iron rims, Barrel L 134.5 cm Note - The barrel has been recently restored back to its original length Footnote - Henry King was appointed Master founder at Woolwich in 1813 after the death of his brother and worked with his nephew Cornelius, appointed assistant founder, their names appearing together until Henry retired in 1818. The post of Master of the Brass Foundry was abolished on Henry's retirement, Cornelius continuing as Acting Founder until his own retirement in 1822. Halford & Sons London” with no “5180”, the name and number repeated inside on the movement with broad arrow and address “129 Fenchurch St EC & 41 Pall Mall, SW, London”, HM London 1904, diam 2¼”, fitted into brass mount with glazed screw on top, all inside mahogany case, 4½” x 3¾” x 2½”, the lid with brass spring catch and inlaid ivory disc with maker’s name, initials “CW” and broad arrow; used for extra navigational purposes in order to avoid disturbing the ship’s clock. A rare sergeant’s gilt forage cap badge (1109), pair brass RMA titles, 7 large and 4 small RMA buttons, cloth roll with knife, fork and spoon, stamped “CED” and “RMA” 13945 and E Dencer; 2 identity tags, webbing bayonet frog with stamps, linen shoulder bag, 2 sgts stripes and one gilt, 2 PO crowns, half cloth bound note book “General Information” containing Dencer’s notes and diagrams, 4 photostat pictures of single and group photos. GC Plate 2 Note: Dencer’s WWI trio (RMA), WWII Defence and War medals and RN LS & GC 2nd issue were sold at DNW on 29th March 2000. Sgt Dencer was born 29th August 1896 and enlisted in the Royal Navy 9th February 1914.

ANGELUS 'Chronodato', a 1940s gentleman's stainless steel triple calendar/chronograph wristwatch, numbered 314860, the cream dial with outer date and seconds track, applied gilt markers and partial numerals, day/month aperture at 12 and 6, and two subsidiary dials for 45 min register and running seconds, with manual wind chronograph movement with column wheel, the case 35mm diameter, on an expandable bracelet CONDITION: movement running, chronograph function is not but movement is clean and all parts appear present, the dial with light pitting and discolouration, but in original condition, the red arrow marker for the date is present, just stuck under the glass. A little wear to the push buttons. Crystal and case without issue, light scratches commensurate with age.
