919-921 AD. Obv: Thor's hammer with three pellets above with +RACIIOIT legend (R formed of an upright, three dots and curve"). Rev: drawn bow with arrow, pointing right with +RBACIIOIT legend. Found near Preston, Yorkshire, UK, 2013. S. 1011; N. 532; see Blunt and Stewart, The Coinage of Regnald I of York and the Bossall Hoard, NC 143, 1983, pp.146-163, especially nos 20-21 (different dies"). See Portable Antiquities Scheme, reference PAS NLM-F304C3 (this coin, with printout of entry); see Early Medieval Corpus, Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, reference EMC 2015. (this coin"). The Portable Antiquities Scheme has designated this coin as a find of 'National importance'; Blunt and Stewart list only four examples of the type from the Bossall hoard, found 1807. 1.14 grams. Very fine; small chip at edge. Extremely rare; new dies, the pellets above Thor's hammer not known from any other die.
9th-10th century AD. A bronze brooch in the shape of a galloping horse with rider on its back wearing a small cap and holding a bow and arrow. Property of a London businessman, from his grandfather's collection formed after World War II; thence by descent 1972. 7.30 grams, 34mm (1 1/2"). Fine condition.
10th-12th century AD. A bronze Scandinavian type 'arrow cross' pendant with integral loop, decorated with facing bearded male face in the middle and four raised dots on each arm. From an old Munich collection; acquired on the German art market before 2000. 5 grams, 34mm (1 1/4"). [No Reserve] Very fine condition.
2nd-1st millennium BC. A bronze axehead with flaring downward-curving blade with central relief arrow emerging from stylised lion's jaw, the ribbed shaft with four butt-spikes. Property of a French gentleman living in London; formerly in a European collection; acquired prior to 1981. 394 grams, 21.5cm (8 1/2"). Very fine condition.

A rare Worcester teapot and cover c.1765, painted in the atelier of James Giles with the arms of the Elsley family, a centaur with a bow and arrow atop a shield quartered in gilt and white with five flowerhead motifs, within a floral scroll cartouche and beneath a gilt spearhead border, a little nibbling to the spout, 18.5cm. A large delftware charger c.1740, painted in blue, red, green and yellow with a Chinaman hunting a stag with a bow and arrow, the rim with floral panels on a hatched diaper ground, a restored rim crack, 34cm. Cf. Louis L Lipski and Michael Archer, Dated English Delftware, p.99, no.428 for a similar plate in the Hall-Warren Collection.
A carved and painted wood heraldic crest The shield worked with a lion and fruiting vine mounted arrow, surmounted with a helmet issuing five further arrows and flanked with scrolling acanthus above a ribbon inscribed Bastion. 62 cm wide. CONDITION REPORTS: Generally in good condition, expected wear, some slight losses, possible old repairs, slight shrinkage cracks, some rubbing to decoration, signed to verso with initials LF.
