The Ampullae were 'Holy Water' vessel purchased by pilgrims at shrines, this example is likely to be from Walsingham.                                                                                    Ampulla 1 is decorated on one side in the form of an escallop shell and on the other with an open pouch with the image of an arrow. Height 56mm. 61.92g.                                                                                                                                                             Ampulla 2 is decorated on one side in the form of an escallop shell and on the other with an open pouch with the image of a jug.
