A Cartier 'Egyptian' onyx and diamond lapel watch, circa 1930, the tapering gilt dial signed Cartier and with yellow metal hands and black arrow indexes, the white enamel bezel with Roman numerals in gilt, the winding crown set with a diamond, the reverse with onyx panel to a border of diamonds, suspended from a diamond and onyx mounted ribbon with pin attachment, total length 9.5cm, gross weight approximately 33.6gm/see illustration Condition Report: 275:Slight scratch to circular onyx. A few minor scratches to onyx back and to enamel bezel, visible under loupe. Dial has missing parts to black line between 3 o'clock and 5 o'clock. Top of pin at hinge looks possibly repaired, copperish colour in this area. Central element to hanger marked 185, lower element marked 186, bail to leaf shaped cap at top of dial marked 9163 (?), back of leaf shaped cap (non-diamond side) numbered .2619. Inner case marked 9704 (?). The dial has discoloration to edge where the metal has met the border.Old Tessiers Insurance valuation dated 14.11.68.
Brass Ships bell stamped NER Co twice on the top. On the inside rim are details of the ship it was salvaged from the shipbreakers. ACT1171 1916 built ammunition carrier finally scrapped in 1973. Admiralty broad arrow stamped on the top. Complete with clapper measures 7 in diameter x 5 .75 in tall. Not only railway interest, but also Royal Navy interest.

An 1856 British Pioneer sawback sword and scabbard, made by Wilkinson, 1856, the blade marked to one side with "35" with crown above and "W" below, the broad arrow and large "X" (which shows it was officially sold out of service), the other marked with Wilkinson London, "BR" with crown above and "26" below, '02 - 795, the blade 22½in. (57cm.) long, the leather and brass scabbard marked with '02, broad arrow and crown, the brass embellishments marked 12/02 - ISK 4.* The Royal Guernsey Militia were said to have been issued these swords.** The British have had several patterns of sawback bayonets - however, this is the only sword. Carried by the Pioneers it was adopted in 1856 and was in use for quite a short period - into the early years of the 20th century.*** The purpose for the sword was twofold - it was obviously a weapon - but, with a strong blade the sawback functioned as an effective saw.**** Condition: Sword and scabbard in good clean condition, with clear markings.
