Peire 1395. - Provenienz: Galerie Saint-Charles de Rose, Paris (Rückwand verso mit Etikett). - Der 1916 in Brügge geborene Künstler entwickelte sich vom Expressionismus immer mehr hin zu seinen überwiegend aus Streifen komponierten, klaren Kompositionen. Die sorgsam arrangierten Streifen Peires wirken jedoch keinesfalls statisch, sondern bieten dem Betrachter stets ein spannungsvolles Zusammenspiel aus verschiedenen Ebenen. Oil on cardboard. Signed and dated on verso and with directional arrow. Framed. - With slight surface rubbing, no retouches recognisable under UV light. Good overall. Harmonious composition. - Provenance: Galerie Saint-Charles de Rose, Paris (label on the reverse). - Born in Bruges in 1916, the artist increasingly shifted from Expressionism to his clear compositions. Peire's carefully arranged stripes are by no means static, but rather always offer the viewer an exciting interplay of different levels.
