A Marvin military issued crown wind open faced pocket watch with military markings 'G.S.T.P 258608 XX' beneath broad arrow to reverse, a Westclox Dax pocket watch, both chrome cased, a Ronson cigarette lighter and a boxed Diplomat cigarette lighter, also a glass bowl and two decanter stoppers (7).Additional InformationSome light general wear. The Marvin pocket watch ticks when wound, as does the Westclox example, but no guarantee of working order.
An original WWII Second World War period 1940 dated British Navy issue linen Union Jack / Flag. Typical form, in red, white and blue. The seam dated 1940 and stamped ' WD ' with Broad Arrow markings. By repute once from the collection of one Rear Admiral EJP Brind. Measures approx; 61cm x 136cm. NB: Further effects from the collection of Brind can be found in the next lot (Lot 111) Brind served in the First World War on the gunboat HMS Excellent, followed by HMS Malaya, and finally on the monitor HMS Sir John Moore. After the war, Brind was captain of HMS Orion and then of HMS Birmingham. Brind also served in the Second World War as Chief of Staff to the Commander-in-Chief, Home Fleet from 1940 to 1942 when he became Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff. He was made commander of cruisers in the British Pacific Fleet in 1945. Brind became President of the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, in 1946 and then Commander-in-Chief of the Far East Fleet in 1949. It was under Brind's command that one of his ships, HMS Amethyst sailed up the Yangtze River and was stranded there for six weeks. He was made Commander-in-Chief, Allied Forces Northern Europe in 1951; he retired in 1953.

An original British post war 1962 dated Royal Army Ordnance Corps Officer's peaked dress uniform hat and a British Military Police arm band. The red felt hat with blue band, ROAC metal badge and black patent peak. Retaining an inner brown leather headband, dated 1962 with broad arrow marks. The Military Police armband also of red felt construction with buckle and Velcro fastening.

All having full rubber face shields, two glass eye pieces and head straps stamped with model number to the back. Broad arrow marks and 1941/2 dates to central speech vent. An original WWI First World War Imperial German Army anti-zeppelin Flechette / aircraft arrow / dart in a presentation tube. The tube dated 1914 / 1915 and containing a paper printed image of a German pilot with the words Zeichnet Kriegsanleihe translating to ' Subscribe To War '. The darts originally sold after the war to raise money for veterans.
A collection of x3 WWI First World War period and later compasses to include a British Army 1912 dated Verners pattern officers marching compass with hinged lid and broad arrow mark, a brown wooden boxed compass with floating dial face and a cubed box with a compass to one side and x3 other dials, one appearing to be a damp detector. Of WWII Second World War Interest - a vintage 1940s dated British Royal Navy white ensign flag, stamped for ' HMS York '. The ensign of typical form, with union flag / jack to corner. The seam stamped with broad arrow and dated 1940 (torn). Measures approx; 92cm x 156cm. HMS York was the lead ship of her class of two heavy cruisers built for the Royal Navy in the late 1920s. She mostly served on the North America and West Indies Station before World War II. Early in the war the ship escorted convoys in the Atlantic and participated in the Norwegian Campaign in 1940. York was transferred to the Mediterranean theatre in late 1940 where she escorted convoys and the larger ships of the Mediterranean Fleet. She was wrecked in an attack by Italian explosive motorboats of the 10th Flotilla MAS at Suda Bay, Crete, in March 1941. The ship's wreck was salvaged in 1952 and scrapped in Bari.
