PURDEY & SONS, AUDLEY HOUSE, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET, LONDON', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp cyl and 3/4 and 1/4 and 1/2 choke, 'Trade Mark C Quality' treble-grip actions with Perkes patent ejectors, patent 10879 of 1886, use numbers 661 and 662, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, removable striker discs, arrow cocking-indicators, best border and fine scroll engraving, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 15 1/4in. well-figured replacement stocks including 3/4in. rubber recoil pads, weight 7lb. 3oz.. The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed in October 1897.

Naval General Service 1793-1840, 1 clasp, Gluckstadt 5 Jany 1814 (T. S. Scriven, Midshipman) edge bruise, otherwise very fine £4000-4500 Thomas Swain Scriven was born on 29 May 1796, at Weymouth, Dorset, and entered the Navy in December 1809 as a Midshipman on board the Neptune 98. He served during the war with France in the West Indies, on the coast of France and in the North Sea in the Blobde and Statira frigates, Arrow schooner, Plover sloop, and Prince 98. Whilst Midshipman of Arrow, commanded by his brother Lieutenant (later Commander, C.B.) Thomas Scriven, he took part in the action with the French privateer L’Aigle, and batteries near the Penmarks. As Midshipman of the Piercer in the North Sea, he assisted at the reduction of Cuxhaven and Gluckstadt, and was intrusted with the command, off Hamburgh, of gun-boat No 4. He was promoted to Lieutenant on 26 December 1822, and served subsequently in the Coast Guard. After leaving the Coast Guard, Lieutenant Scriven commanded successively the Weymouth and Dorset packets Cuckoo, Widgeon and Princess Alice. £4000-£4500
A mid-20th Century Stainless Steel Military Wrist Watch, Omega, 10260916, the signed 15 jewel movement to a signed black circular dial, with sunk subsidiary seconds, outside minute track and luminous fill hands, and further marked with the Government Broad Arrow, in a circular case with bevelled bezel and screw-down back, marked WWW over Government Broad Arrow, over Y18501, over 10682700, and further to the interior 10682700, over WWW, over the Broad Arrow, and fixed lugs, fitted with a later sprung mesh bracelet, width 1 9/16”
A 2nd half of the 20th Century plated Military Wrist Watch, Vertex, the signed 15 jewel movement, the mono-metallic balance and overcoil hairspring to a signed circular black dial, with outside minute track and luminous 5 minute markers, with further luminous filled hands, marked a Government Broad Arrow over subsidiary seconds, in a brushed finish case, with screw-down back, marked WWW over the Broad Arrow, over A11678, over 3524594, and on the inside WWW over the Broad Arrow, over 3524594, with bevelled bezel and fixed lugs, width 1 9/16”
GREEN ILKESTON CODD BOTTLE. 8.75 ins tall, bright green glass, twin lugged codd bottle, embossed ‘W. FLETCHER/ ILKESTON’ to one side, animals head with arrow going through it pictorial t.m. to other ‘BREFFITS LD MAKERS CASTLEFORD’ around base. A Pair of Long Carved Oak Panels mounted side by side in an ogee moulded frame. Each panel centred by an oval cartouche relief carved with a nude figure in a landscape holding an arrow in one hand and a sickle in the other and flanked by winged sphinxes, 12 3/4 ins x 66 ins (32 cms x 167.5 cms).
