A COMMANDO DAGGER. A W W 11 issue Commando's dagger, complete with its leather sheath. The flat crossguard is marked with a 'B' and broad arrow, the double-edged blade of some 6.3/8" in length. Both knurled hilt and blade are blackened, the scabbard is complete. Believed to have been carried by Reg Williams of Bristol in WW11. The following two lots are also said to have been 'Liberated' by him.
A MILITARY KHUKURI. A post W W 1 military issue khukuri with 13" blade, with various acceptance and owners initials present. D H W and broad arrow, 1919 etc. Brown leather scabbard complete with frog, again with military acceptance marks. The scabbard is the correct length, though the blade is halted with an inch or so left enter.

His work as an amateur artist shows a knowledge of various artists of the time including Hercules Brabazon Brabazon. He visited the Continent on various occasions in the 1860's and 1870's, with visits to the Cote D'Azur; areas of the Alps near the Franco/Italian border; and the Pyrenees and Biarritz.

A tray of collectables, bone needle case, silver bookmark with agate handle, small intagio seal carved with a heart and an arrow having a mother-of-pearl handle, cigarette holder, silver spoon, silver thimble, pair of spectacles, a modern Cross ball point pen and a Parker fountain pen,(both boxed) etc.
Decorated with a grey-blue guan-type crackled glaze, with a rounded body on a shallow foot and angular shoulders rising to a slender neck, adorned with opposing tubular-form arrow handles. Six-character Daoguang seal mark in underglaze blue on the base. This piece is reminiscent of earlier Song ‘arrow’ vases. Like the Ge and Guan glazes of the earlier Song Dynasty the Qing master potters have highlighted the crackle effect with a dark brown wash. This also is used to give the ‘iron foot’ effect on the unglazed section of the foot rim in imitation of Song dynasty stoneware.
Inspired by an archaic bronze form, this piece has a hexagonal section body sitting on a shallow, slightly flared foot, with angular shoulders rising to a waisted neck and a slightly flared mouth, the neck decorated with opposing tubular-form arrow handles, the glaze of smooth blueish-grey tone, the foot rim unglazed, and decorated with a dark brown wash in imitation of early Song Guan stoneware, the base with an underglaze blue six-character Qianlong seal mark.This piece is typical of Qing master craftsmen paying tribute to the earlier Ru, Ge and Guan wares of the Song Dynasty.PROVENANCE:A Japanese Private Collection, Christie'sHong Kong, 30 November 2011, lot 3315, with stand, Japanese wood box.

3rd Pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Parkerised “B2” Commando fighting knife.A good example. The hilt with Parkerised finished to the ribbed grip and to the oval cross guard a WD Arrow stamp and “B2”. The pommel is embossed with a three and the double edged blade with spear point, Housed in dark brown leather scabbard with Parkerised square chape and elasticised strap. This scabbard retains leather tangs. The overall condition is good clean condition, blade length 17.5cm
WW2 Scarce Beaded and Ribbed Pattern War Department issue Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife.A good example with beaded and ribbed design to the grip. To the lower grip a WD Arrow and 2 stamp Double edged spear point blade, with straight oval cross guard. Housed in original dark brown leather scabbard with rounded chape and retaining tangs. Blade length 18 cm. The Parkerised finish has been removed from the grip and chape. GC.
WW2 British Army Issue Brass Pommel Smatchet Fighting Knife.A good and scarce example, with single edged leaf shape blade. The hilt with large steel oval crossguard, heavy brass pommel stamped with broad arrow over “13”. The wooden slab grips secured by four steel rivets. Contained in its webbing covered fibre scabbard with rear belt loop and securing strap. Scabbard with maker “ME Co 1942”. Minor rust staining to steel.
