*Korea. A group of four to Private W.H. Parker, 1st Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment, captured during WWII, later serving with the regiment in Korea and saw action at the Battle of Imjin River 1939-1945 Star, War Medal, Korea 1950-53, 1st Britt.Omn type (5184771 Pte W H Parker Glosters), later issues in named card box of issue, United Nations for Korea, extremely fine, with a collection of original paperwork including a black and white photograph of the recipient in Stalag VIIIB prisoner of war camp with Prisoner of War Post envelope addressed to the recipient, a reunion photograph of the recipient with service friends, a newspaper dated 24.7.1991 headlined 'Glorious Glosters' printed with a group photograph which includes the recipient in uniform annotated 'Grandad P' with an arrow, plus various copied research including service papers and debriefing report 5184771 Private William Henry Parker served with the Gloucestershire Regiment from 19.1.1939, served with the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) with the 2nd Battalion, 48th (South Midland) Infantry Division from 1.10.1939, reported Prisoner of War after being captured at Cassel, Northern France 29.5.1940, posted as missing and sent to Stalag VIIIB, Trier (POW No.10776), released 10.5.1945 and admitted to Corse Hill Isolation Hospital, Swindon, re-joined 9.8.1950 and posted to the Wessex Brigade, served in Korea with the 1st Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment from 1.10.1950, served with the regiment during the Battle of Imjin River, the Gloucestershire Echo report dated 29.10.1951 reports 'Pte. Parker was in the Imjin area, taking supplies to forward positions, but when the bitter three days' and nights' battle started, he, and others, were about four miles away. When the Chinese-Communists made a wider, enveloping circle, he and his fellow drivers made a dash with their laden trucks through enemy-held territory'. (4)

B.R.D.C. A Souvenir of the Dinner given by the Club, to Major Sir Henry Segrave and Captain J. S. Irving, in honour of the attainment of the speed of 231mph. Dated April 29th, 1929, a cord-tied 8pp booklet, with a full-page Bryan de Grineau image of the Golden Arrow on the ISFC, and an F. Gordon Crosby image on page 3, the centre-spread containing the menu and toasts list and a cut-away of the car, signed on the front cover by Segrave and Irving, also similarly signed on the centre-spread by both men, together with Kaye Don (Kaye Ernest Donsky), John Theodore Cuthbert Moore-Brabazon (First Baron Brabazon of Tara) and Sir Arthur Stanley. Page 6 images the Miss England boat in action by de Grineau, together with a picture of the Wakefield Trophy ISRC. Sound and intact, the publication is a little soiled, creased at the corners and some ghosting of the signatures The B.R.D.C. had been inaugurated as a social club in April 1928 with 25 members, and it was not until 1929 that the club became involved with the promotion of racing events. This dinner menu probably represents the earliest, if not the first, B.R.D.C. promotion of a World Land Speed Record. (1)

A quality mid-1920s accessory mascot by Augustine & Emile Lejeune with a registered design number of 671966 inscribed at the rear of the base, this well-crafted mascot, depicting a winged cupid character with a bow and arrow, features glass eyes, whereas the standard model, with a registration number of 671968, does not, not mounted, 5 ins (13 cm) high (1)

SUPERMAN: An excellent original colour 18 x 12 pen and ink drawing of the American super heroes Batman and Superman, drawn by an unidentified artist (signed with their intitals TP and dated 2004 in their hand to the lower right corner) in the manner of Infantino & Anderson. The well executed drawing depicts Batman and Superman standing alongside each other in head and shoulders poses, with a host of seven other comic book heroes in the immediate background including Wonder Woman, The Flash. Green Lantern, Green Arrow etc. VG Carmine Infantino (1925-2013) and Murphy Anderson (1926-2015) American Comic Book Artists, famous for their contributions to the characters of DC Comics in the Golden and Silver Age of Comic Books

GREAT WAR - THE WELSH GUARDS - A RARE COMMEMORATIVE HAND CARVED OAK LOVING SPOON of traditional Welsh form, made from the oak of the bombed Cloth Hall at Ypres decorated with two pierced heart devices and inlaid with bone panels, inscribed 'Ypres 1917 'and '1st Welsh Guards 1915' bearing a small paper label to reverse 'Cloth Hall Ypres', 26.5cm long, together with two Welsh Guards cloth collar insignia, a Kings crown brass plate marked with the WD broad arrow device to reverse and a hand-written three page letter posted from France July the 25th 1918 by 1581 Private Hugh James, No.2 Company, 8th Platoon, 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, B.E.F. France to his brother in Wales. The Welsh Guards were founded by Royal Warrant on the 26th of February 1915 by order of His Majesty King George V in order to include Wales in the national component to the Foot Guards On 17 August 1915 the 1st Battalion sailed for France to join the Guards Division to commence its participation in the Great War.

Retailed by Asprey and Son, a Victorian gold telescopic plumb bob pencil, maker's mark W T for Walter Thornhill, also marked M, probably for Mordan and engraved with an arrow, also with a lozenge mark for 12 September 1873, also engraved 'No.1094', with six telescopic pull-out sections and with a ring terminal, length extended 12cm, length shut 5cm. Plumb bob pencils were also known as spinning tops and peg tops. This pencil was one that Thornhill and Mordan co-operated in.
