A Stainless Steel Military Open Faced Pocket Watch, signed Rolex, circa 1940, lever movement signed and numbered 886, black dial with Arabic numerals and signed Rolex and numbered A9790, seconds dial, screw back with military engraved marks A.9790 G.S.MK.II and a broad arrow, inside back cover stamped Rolex Geneve Suisse, 49mm wide see illustration 30.07.20 Case with surface scratches, back cover with deeper scratches and some dents, winding crown is discoloured, dial with hairline cracks and chips, hands are discoloured, seconds hand is missing, no sign of the seconds hand pivot showing when looking through an eyeglass into the pivot aperture for the seconds, hand setting correctly, mainspring appears to have broken and unable to wind the movement, movement not working.
dating: 1740 - 50 provenance: France, Curved, single-and false-edged blade with central fuller and rear groove, first part engraved on one side with royal coat-of-arms with three crowned lilies, sun, heart, 'VIVE LE ROY' and unreadable manufacturer's signature, a grenadier, heart and decorations on the other side, among which a barely readable signature. Back part engraved with a long arrow. Brass hilt with heart-shaped shell-guard, loop-guard and almost spherical pommel. Wooden grip covered with metallic wire binding and with brass ring-nuts, engraved with rings. Provenance: R. Brooker collection, inventory n. S - 574. length 96 cm.

19th century overmantel mirror, ornate finial with mask to centre flanked by scrolling foliage, floral swags and bunches of grapes surmounted by arrow, later gilt painted and with touch ups, later glass plate, 174 x 163cm Sizes are correct. It is the overall size not the plate size.Possibly some losses but the heavy gold re-painting has gone over wherever they are.Gesso can be seen on the back of the surmount.
