Birmingham black powder proof barrel with bolstered breech and bead foresight, round action with brass trigger-guard, retaining traces of original finish, 13 1/4in. figured stock including 3/4in. rubber recoil pad, in its canvas case with two brass barrel keys, Sykes patent powder flask, assorted percussion caps (one tin with spare nipples), a cloth bag of 'Eleys' Best Felt Wadding', nipple wrench and 3 harpoons; one solid brass tip, one with arrow-head tip and two fold-out barbs the third with sprung folding spear point. Footnote: The vendor informs us that the gun was originally purchased by the family from Hardy Bros. in Alnwick. The vendor informs us that his only experience of seeing the gun in action was in his youth, on a small yacht. As it resulted in the firer being thrown overboard by the unexpected recoil, it has remained unused ever since.
