A .60 Calibre Percussion Carbine Musket, 27ins plain steel barrel, blackened lock being crown over VR and 1856 Tower to the lock plate, walnut stock and fore end, steel butt plate, steel ramrod, 42.5ins overallCondition Report - As catalogued the weapon is a musket and therefore the barrel is smooth bore, the weapon cocks, holds and fires.  The woodwork shows some evidence of bruising due to age and usage but no obvious sign of previous damage or repair. The stock is marked with broad arrow over 80, it is also stamped with the number 84.  The action is stamped 1856 tower with crown over VR.  The barrel is stamped with numerous proof marks (British) and the barrel appears to be of good thickness.  Overall a good honest example.
