A Gulf War period Royal Air Force issue black leather flying jacket, the arms with two pen pockets, and a further pen pocket to the left breast with tailors label for 'Aircrew Jacket, Aviation Leathercraft, Thruxton Airport', size 44 large, together with a green summer weight flying suit believed to have been worn during the first Gulf War together with a 1950s parachute, grey canvas with various stamps, including 'C-4Y 8322006' (for dislay purposes only), plus a brown leather breast over jacket with original tailors label by Cookson & Clegg, dated 1954, size 3 with war department arrow (4)

The text discussing the factory models and specifications, together with diagrammatic illustrations of body-styles, code names and types, plan views of the seating arrangements, chassis components, engine cut-aways, dashboard arrangements, etcetera. The absolute joy of this publication are the many steel-etched plates depicting Scottish tourist sites by A. Mackinnon. Cord-tied with a dark grey card cover with just a hint of a light crease (1)

John Sullivan, effectively describing the success of the Pierce-Arrow winning the Glidden Trophy (400 ounces of sterling silver) for the second year running. A saddle-stitched 46pp book with good photographs of the competing cars, map of the 1906 event, detailed text, predicaments and troubles and a picture of the trophy. Sound condition, the cover with edge bumps, a company rubber stamp on the front free end paper (1)

A brass cavalry trumpet, by Henry Potter, Charing Cross, London, stamped with WD and broad arrow, “C & M, 1879, 3/81, 1 RD”, length 15” (belonged to Trumpeter Wilson, 1st (Royal) Dragoons, who was with the Heavy Camel Regiment in the Gordon Relief Expedition. He was killed on 19th January 1885 at Abu Kru, a brief battle which took place two days after the famous encounter and Abu Klea. In somewhat battered condition commensurate with circumstances. A scarce 10 bore Tower flintlock Short Sea Service musket, 42” overall, barrel 26” with fore sight, London proofs and what appear to be ordnance proofs stamped over Tower private proofs; slightly rounded lock bearing large crowned “GR” and “Tower” and having ring neck cock; walnut almost fullstock having no fore end cap, butt of late pattern with rounded comb and bearing crowned broad arrow over 1806 storekeeper’s mark, with late type brass mounts, flat butt plate tang engraved with number “2”, the front ramrod pipe incorporating ramrod retaining spring. Good Condition (action requires attention, barrel lightly rusted overall, some service wear, no ramrod). Short Sea Service muskets were assembled utilising old parts.
