Jenings, London, the matted centre with date aperture and subsidiary seconds dial, with cast-brass cherub-and-crown corner spandrels, the associated oak case with Greek-key crossbanding, the hood having fluted columns and an architectural pediment top, height 210cm inc. finial.Notes: Possibly by Robert Jennings of St Sepulchre parish, apprenticed 1691 and a Freeman of the Clockmakers' Company from 1703 until 1735, died circa 1743.

Gally & Co, Exeter, with an inset thermometer, the mahogany case with crossbanding, turned cistern cover and surmounted with an architectural pediment, height 97cm.John Gallie (Gally) & Co are recorded as working at the Old Golden Lion in Guinea Street, Exeter and advertised as makers and repairers of barometers at this address in the Exeter Flying Post of 19th July 1798. Pair of Meissen style porcelain tazza, the pan tops painted with floral sprays, architectural and floral columns, the bases modelled with winged frolicking cherubs, blue crossed swords mark and painted FC monogram, 21cm, (as found).Qty: 2Condition report:One tazza has a chip to its rim. One cherub on the other tazza has a repaired wing. Both tazzas have some loss of gilding and minor losses to flowers. The movement would benefit from a clean and service. The silvering to the dial is stained. The case is in good original condition. The left skirt panel is loose.

C. C. Central School of Arts and Crafts, tooled with decorative corner-pieces and boarder, with 'FS' monogram on upper cover with green onlay, spine gilt in compartments, g.e., spine faded, 8vo, 1925. *** The Central School of Arts and Crafts was established in 1896 by the London County Council, it became part of the London Institute in 1986 and in 1989 merged with Saint Martin's School of Art to form Central Saint Martin's College of Arts and Design. William Richard Lethaby (1857-1931) trained and practiced as an architect, but was also a designer, educator, and architectural theorist and historian. He was a very important influence on art education and on the Arts and Crafts movement in Victorian Britain. The dedicatee of this presentation binding, Stuttig, settled in England before 1891 and taught wood carving and gilding at the Central School and at Camberwell.
