Anatolian runner with Mezarlik design, Kirsehir area, central Anatolia, circa 1920s-30s, 11ft. 10in. x 3ft. 2in. 3.60m. x 0.97m. Overall wear, heavy in places; crude repairs, reweaves, small damages. The architectural elements of this runner, typical of Kirsehir rugs, are said to represent various distinguished cemetries of the area. Curiously, the pile of this runner is woven in the opposite direction to the design.
